Bring It 180!

Bring It 180

We Have an Opportunity!

Approximately sixty-eight students at Boca Raton High School (BRHS) were chronically absent during the 2014/15 school year.  Low attendance rates are significantly correlated to low proficiency in core academic subjects and graduation rates.  Therefore, it is imperative to improve student attendance in order to increase student achievement and graduation rates (Balfanz, 2012).

The purpose of the Bring It 180 initiative is to utilize a manageable system of support to increase student attendance while gaining the benefit of better student achievement, and graduation rates. BRHS through its School Improvement Plan (SIP) has set the goal of increasing attendance and improving student achievement and graduation rates. An Attendance Leadership Team (ALT) has been formed and set two goals related to increasing student attendance and improving daily attendance. Additionally, strategies will be implemented to address school-wide tardiness.
