Parents and students will soon have an opportunity to learn about the 310 Choice Programs offered through the School District of Palm Beach County at the annual Showcase of Schools.
On Tuesday, October 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds, representatives from 114 different campuses will be available to answer questions about the strengths and educational opportunities offered at each of their schools.
Families with students entering Pre–Kindergarten through Grade 12 can choose from a range of programs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels that provide innovative and rigorous academic instruction by specially trained teachers.
Choice applications for the 2018-2019 school year will be accepted starting November 1st at www.mypbchoiceapp.com. Deadlines for applications will vary depending on the program selected.
To support students and families affected by Hurricane Irma, the College Board will offer a free November SAT registration and a CSS Profile fee waiver for all interested Palm Beach County students.
The free November SAT registration and CSS Profile fee waiver are for students who are experiencing hardship and/or displacement due to the hurricane and are in an area designated by FEMA, which includes Palm Beach County.
- Students who are already registered for the November 4th SAT should call Customer Service to receive a refund of their registration and late fee.To reach Customer Service, please call 866-756-7346.
- Students can register for the November 4th test or contact Customer Service for refunds up to October 25th.
- For the College Scholarship Service Profile fee waiver, students should go to cssprofile.org, complete their application, and the system will automatically apply eligibility rules. To reach CSS Profile Customer Service, please call 844-202-0524.
The application is now open to start applying for National Honor Society. The application is NOT for current members. The deadline for the Fall application is October 6th for current Juniors and Seniors. Students must have a 3.5 gpa in order to apply. Current juniors need 40 or more community service hours and Seniors need 60 or more community service hours. If you have anymore questions, stop by Mr. Peterson’s room, 8-104.

Boca Raton HIgh School’s College & Career Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 26th from 6-8pm in the gymnasium and open to families and students in all grades as well as to the public. Over 90 colleges/universities from all areas of the country, technical schools, educational counselors, and test prep services will be represented. This is a great way to do your college exploration and planning!
The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 11th during school hours All 9th,10th, and 11th grade students are encouraged to take this important step toward college. All 9th and 10th graders will be automatically registered at no cost. Juniors must register for the test on School Cash Online for $15. Any junior on Free or Reduced lunch can register for a fee waiver in the College and Career Center. Registration closes on October 6th.
