Boca High Aquatics

Students, Parents and Friends

Boca Raton Swim Team is excited to join Boca Raton Aquatics in a fundraising effort to ADD SOME SHADE to the pool at Boca Raton High School.  We all know how badly this is needed.

You can help by making a donation here -> https://www.gofundme.com/braquatics

AND

Purchasing some GREAT promotional gear here -> http://stickershopunlimited.com/branded/boca-raton-swim-team.html

Our coaching staff has been doing such a phenomenal job growing our team over the past few years.  When we approached them and asked how the team families could help, the resounding #1 response was SHADE!   We want to ensure that everyone at the pool, spectator or competitor, is safe from the elements, while on deck.

Covering the bleacher area will be the first priority.  If additional money can be raised, we will add even more shade improvements.

We have already received (3) competitive bids from local contractors and have approval from the school board to proceed.  All we need is your support.

Please help as much as you can!  Think about donating $5, $10, or even $20 for each of the future swim meets you and your children will attend.  It adds up quickly!

Boca Raton Aquatics is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization and your donations via GoFundMe are tax deductible.

Thank you for your support!

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR CITY OF BOCA RATON WATER CUSTOMERS

As noted in the notification below, beginning Sunday, November 6, 2016 the City of Boca Raton Utility Services Department will perform the periodic distribution system maintenance that involves modifying the disinfection process by using a “free chlorine” residual.  This process will continue for two weeks until Sunday, November 20, 2016.

 IMPORTANT NOTICE

FOR CITY OF BOCA RATON WATER CUSTOMERS

To maintain the water quality in the city’s water system, the city of Boca Raton utility services department will temporarily modify the disinfection process used by the water treatment facility.  The city will be using a somewhat stronger disinfection process to produce free chlorine residual instead of a chloramine residual for a two-week period beginning on Sunday, November 6, 2016 and ending on Sunday, November 20, 2016.  The change in the treatment will provide additional protection against bacteria and is being done in accordance with the city’s distribution system maintenance program.

Customers served by the city of Boca Raton utility services may notice a slight chlorine taste or odor in the tap water during this period.  However, these temporary conditions will not cause adverse health effects.

Users of home kidney dialysis machines, owners of tropical fish aquariums, and managers of stores and restaurants with fish and shellfish holding tanks are advised that the methods for testing and removing free chlorine residuals differ from those used for chloramine residuals.  Both types of residuals may adversely affect users of kidney dialysis machines and may be toxic to fish and aquatic animals if not treated properly.

We encourage customers who may be affected by this change to seek professional advice.

The city will continue to flush fire hydrants during this period.  Customers may notice flowing water in streets and swales, localized lower water pressures and a slight discoloration of their tap water.  Again, these temporary conditions will not cause adverse health effects.

If you should need further information on this change in the water treatment process, please call utility services at 561-338-7310.
